Mercy Chelangat, a junior at Alabama, repeated as winner of the women's 10,000-meter final at the Southeastern Conference Championships by clocking 33:15.66 at the Ole Miss Track and Field Complex in Oxford, Mississippi. Chelangat became the first female athlete in the conference to secure back-to-back crowns since Angela Homan of Auburn won three in a row from 2004-06. She also became the first Alabama female athlete to repeat in the 10,000 since Jeni Nielson in 1986-87.
