Bobby Colantonio, a junior at Alabama, became the first male athlete in program history to win the hammer throw title at the Southeastern Conference Championships at the Ole Miss Track and Field Complex in Oxford, Mississippi. Colantonio punctuated his series with a lifetime-best 238-2 (72.59m) in the sixth round and had five marks beyond the 70-meter barrier. Colantonio ascended to the championship after placing fifth last year and sixth in 2019, and elevated to No. 3 among collegiate competitors this season and second overall in Division 1.
