Mercy Chelangat, a junior at Alabama, repeated as winner of the women's 5,000-meter crown in 15:22.99 at the Southeastern Conference Championships at Ole Miss Track and Field Complex in Oxford, Mississippi. Chelangat became the first female athlete in conference history to win back-to-back titles in both the 5,000 and 10,000 since Amy Yoder-Begley of Arkansas achieved the feat from 1999-2001.
